Overview of Seismic Data Processing
Overview of Seismic Data Processing: GES001- 10 Days
Audience
- Entry level for both geologists and geophysicists
- Geophysical research scientists are also welcome, especially those who have not mastered this broad field.
Purpose
The overall purpose of this course is to introduce entry level and/or junior Geophysicists and Geoscientists the seismic processing concepts and principles from the Reformat to the Migration
Learning Objectives
Upon the completion of this course the participant will be able to:
- To gain an understanding of the geological situations in which hydrocarbons form.
- To provide with theoretical information about: definition of terms, surface waves, body waves, signal theory, reflection, refraction, diffraction, amplitudes and the decibel scale.
- To introduce the concept of ‘geometry’ and its significance in Data Processing.
- Noise Attenuation.
- Deconvolution and Multiple Attenuation.
- Velocities , Statics and Migration
